A traineeship is a course that includes a work placement. It can last from 6 weeks up to 6 months.

The traineeship is free to your business but you may support trainees with expenses such as transport and meals.

Kickstart Scheme

The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create new 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term employment.

If you’re an employer with a pay bill over £3 million each year, you will have been paying the apprenticeship levy from 6 April 2017 at a rate of 0.5% of your annual payroll.
